Reading improvement requires confidence, practice, support and praise!

 

      The purpose of Reading Club is to provide extra reading instruction to children who are reading below grade level expectations.  Learning to read is a complicated process, and some children benefit from additional instruction provided in a small group setting.  Reading teachers will work with each student, their families and the classroom teachers to monitor progress and coordinate efforts.  Some of the skills that will be covered include:  phonemic awareness, decoding, sight words, comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency.
